Zero fucks for zero waste

I started my week with a talk in ADB about Universal Health Care and Climate Change care of Atty. Joyce Melcar Tan. It was basically a crash course on climate change and why we, as members of the health sector, should be alarmed. She ended by saying that all is not lost. We have ways to mitigate the effects of this phenomenon, but we must each do our part to be less wasteful, and more mindful in our consumption. I wouldn't call myself naive per se but I can't claim to be an expert on climate change either. I never really thought that much about it until I heard her speak about what we're doing to the planet by not doing anything about climate change. After her session, my friends and I got to talking about sustainable living and how to reduce our carbon footprint as a way to contribute to fighting off the bad effects of climate change. Social media killed the man

Norrah: It reminds me of this part of Judaism that I really like. It's called Tikkun Olam. It says that he world's been broken into pieces and it's every body's job to find them and put them back together again.  Nick: Well we're the pieces. Maybe we are not supposed to find the pieces. Maybe we are the pieces. (Nick and Norrah's Infinite Playlist, 2008) Tikkun Olam literally means "to repair the world." How badly the world needs to heal from it's brokenness right now. And how unfortunate that so many people don't see how broken it really is. We are all, in part, to blame for this tragedy. Some wreck havoc on their fellow men, others choose to look away, or deny that something is happening, while some would stand, watch, like, comment, and share it. With the advent of social media, you'd think it would be much easier to connect with people and band together to do something about our broken world, but no. We post and share...
